A Visit from UC Regent Richard Blum
On February 12th we had the pleasure of inaugurating the UCLA Blum Center's new location on campus. Our ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by UC Regent Richard Blum, Annette Blum from Blum Media International, Heather Kinlaw Lofthouse from the Blum Center for Developing Economies(UC Berkeley), UCLA faculty members Tom Coates and Steven Wallace, Vice Provost for International Studies and Global Engagement, Cindy Fan, and several UCLA students who take part in the work of the UCLA Blum Center.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, we hosted a Student Research Symposium to showcase all of the great work that students have conducted in collaboration with the UCLA Blum Center. Student presenters included: Edgar Corona, David Geffen School of Medicine; Erik Peña, Fielding School of Public Health; Rachel Mernoff, Pre-Med and Biological Anthropology Major; Ramon Cervantes-Tadeo, Humanities Major; Marina Krygin, Microbiology, Immunology, Genetics Major; Anakaren Andrade, Environmental Science Major; Rhea Mathew, Neuroscience Major; Jessica Hsueh, Physiological Science Major; Harrison Lam, Human Biology and Society Major; Krissia Martinez, School of Education Doctoral Student.
